NAD Electronics is introducing at the CEDIA Expo, September 24-26, a series of products that includes the S150 Silver Series AV Surround Preamp/Processor. Boasting a gleaming aluminum chassis, the S150 delivers outstanding sonic transparency and support for all current audio and video formats, including THXÆ Ultra, DolbyÆ Digital, DTSÆ, Dolby ProLogicÆ. Features include NADís exclusive Enhanced Ambiance Recovery System (EARS), a powerful DSP ambiance recovery mode, 24ñbit resolution DACs for all channels, a second independent music zone, three 12ñvolt triggers, an RS232 control interface, and S ñ Video and composite video jacks. Also new from NAD is the S250 Silver Series Power Amplifier. The S250 is a fiveñchannel matching amp for the S150, with THXÆ Ultra Certification and 125 watts of power per channel, all contained in the Silver Seriesí striking aluminum chassis. Features include monoblock modular construction, NADís proprietary Soft Clipping circuitry, which reduces the risk of loudspeaker damage from prolonged or inadvertent overdrive conditions, Class A input circuit topology, a massive Holmgren toroidal transformer, a 12ñvolt trigger, a detachable power cord, and ""proñstyle"" balanced XLR jacks. The S250 delivers a powerful level of musical detail, impact, and soundstage breadth and depth.
