Amazon.com A Bigger Net-Sales Jungle Today

Amazon.com Inc., already the world's largest online seller of movies, music and books, will take e-commerce to a new level beginning today by allowing merchants of any size to sell just about anything via the Amazon.com Web site. Merchants selling everything from buffalo steaks to timeshares who participate in the new zShops service will pay Amazon.com a $9.99 monthly subscription fee plus a ""success fee"" of 2%-5% for each sale. Merchants using the Amazon.com Payments service, by which Amazon.com deposits payments for sold items directly into the merchant's account, will pay an additional 60 cents per transaction and a higher success fee.
