Cinepro has introduced an all-in-one solution to surge protection, line conditioning, and system power control - the PowerLight 1800. ""Weíve even added lights so you can operate your system in the dark,"" says Cinepro President Eric Abraham. The PowerLight 1800 has several features that distinguish it from other line conditioners. Edge-of-the-art two level suppression includes 720 Joules of surge protection. Delicate electronic components are protected from brown outs and white outs, in that power is automatically shut off if continuous incoming voltage drops below 90 or exceeds 130 volts. Employing both electronic and passive surge protection, this microprocessor controlled two-level protection is the most advanced available in consumer electronics.Full line conditioning for reducing noise and RFI interference is achieved with up to 52dB of noise reduction. The result is cleaner sound quality and brighter, more vivid pictures. In many cases ""herringbone fuzziness,"" snow patterns and other pictures distortions are eliminated.A Cinepro exclusive, two aluminum slide out lamps softly illuminate components. A front panel dimmer control provides the optimum amount of light desired, which is most convenient when changing DVDs and LaserDiscs in a darkened room. Delayed amplifier turn-on is ideal for powering up large systems. Two heavy-duty outlets turn on five seconds following general system power up. This, says the company, ensures the source components are operational prior to amplifier turn-on, thereby eliminating annoying, and potentially damaging, speaker pop. The power off cycle reverses the order for proper system shutdown. With the PowerLight 1800, the system can be turned on with a touch of the front panel power button. In larger, home automated systems, a simple 12 volt DC signal will also turn on all switched outlets. A special AC sense power cord allows full system control through any switched AC outlet, such as a remote controlled preamplifier or receiver. The company says that cleaner, more three dimensional sound is realized through another Cinepro exclusive feature, two digital isolated outlets. These specially filtered receptacles isolate digital components, such as DVD players, from delicate analogue equipment like preamplifiers and amplifiers. The suggested retail price is $349.00.
