Cedia Honors Custom Electronics Industry Leaders Industry Leaders Receive Recognition At CEDIA Expo í99 Awards Banquet

The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) hosted a record 12,700 custom electronics industry leaders for CEDIA Expo í99, September 22 ñ 26 at the Indianapolis Convention Center. CEDIA Expo í99 attendees received a preview of the custom electronic industryís newest technologies and products, and had the opportunity to participate in the most comprehensive educational experience in the industry. CEDIAís education program, top ranked in the industry, offered more than 280 hours of courses, plus manufacturer product training sessions at CEDIA Expo í99. ""We are overwhelmed and pleased with the success of this yearís Expo,"" said Steve Hayes, CEDIAís newest President. ""Our industry relies on the knowledge that is gained from the educational experience at CEDIA and the hardworking individuals who are dedicated to bringing custom electronics to an elevated, cutting ñ edge level."" Hayes reported a record number of new products made their debut on the show floor and over 300 exhibitors demonstrated how the newest custom electronics are now being incorporated into peopleís homes and lives. CEDIAís ""Garden of High Definition Delight,"" a showcase of the latest direct view and high definition display devices (with 24 different widescreen displays), and CEDIA's Home of Electronic Lifestylesô, a demonstration of a fully automated home in action, were also featured. In addition to the education courses and show floor activities, CEDIA Expo í99 included keynote addresses by Chuck Ashman of Millennium Information Services and Dr. Cecs Jan Koomen of Philips Electronics.
