Aegis Audio/Video Management System Begins Beta Testing

Home Systems Plus (HSP), a member of the Lenbrook Group, announced at last week CEDIA Expo ë99 that the Aegis Audio/Video Management System (AVMS) will begin Beta Testing in early October, 1999.The Aegis Audio/Video Management System was designed to work as a ""stand alone"" audio distribution system or to fully integrate with the Aegis Home and Lifestyle Management System. It is so powerful that it allows the user to perform operations previously restricted to computer based systems such as searching for a CD by artist or music type. When connected to the Aegis Home and Lifestyle Management System the system touch screens also provide fully interactive user control of security, heating, lighting, sprinklers, etc. According to Jeffrey Jerome, who designed the AVMS system for HSP ""We designed the Aegis AVMS touch screen consoles to be the single place in any room where a user can view and manage their entire environment from music to temperature. The Aegis consoles combine intuitive operation with a display that is easy to read from across the room to provide the ultimate in user information and control"". The menu system is so intuitive that HSP expects few consumers will require any training to use the system. The Aegis Audio/Video Management system was designed by Home Systems Plus to be easy to install. Instead of spending dozens of hours integrating many components, the installer merely needs to connect one Category 5 cable to the Aegis control unit to effect control of heating, lighting and security systems. The unit is expected to be available for shipment near the beginning of the year and will be manufactured by Home Systems Plus in the USA.
