Pioneer Electronics enters the 3rd year of the exciting DVD technology with the introduction at last weekís CEDIA Expo ë99 of two new step-up DVD players, bringing to the consumer an affordable advanced home theater experience. The company further enhances the traditional DVD categories with the introduction of the industryís first three-disc DVD changer, the DV-C302D and the feature driven DV-626D. ""The progression of DVD technology, with its razor -sharp images and crystal clear sound, has invigorated the home theatre marketplace,"" said Matt Dever, Vice President, Marketing and Product Planning, Pioneer Home electronics. ""The introduction of these new models, with the expansion of features and product categories, consumers can now fully take advantage of the DVD format""The DV-C302D DVD/CD changer offers consumers the solution of upgrading their current single CD player to a changer, and also provides a competent entry into the DVD format. The DV-C302D also features a built in Dolby Digital decoder providing connections to Dolby Digital ready receivers. The DV-626D is truly a DVD player for the new millennium. With features such as built in Dolby Digital and DTS processing, Advanced Digital Video Noise Reduction, Quick Start drive mechanism, and a TrickPlay Processor the DV-626D is sure to meet the needs of a true videophile. Advanced Digital Video Noise Reduction separates the visible noise from video signals which results in a noise-free, clear picture. The TrickPlay Processor provides consumers with crystal clear scanning of DVDs in forward or reverse at multiple speeds. The Quick Start drive mechanism improves searching and spin-up speeds by more than 30 percent. This new drive mechanism also improves the players tolerance to dirty or damaged discs. Both of these models, (DV-626D and DV-C302D), broaden the DVD experience with features such as component video outputs, DTS compatibility, and 96kHz /24-bit Digital-to-Analog converters. All of Pioneerís DVD players use new video circuitry, which boast improved video performance, due to a new 10-bit video processing LSI (Large Scale Integrated Circuit). This Pioneer - developed video LSI combines, on a single chip, the MPEG2 decoder, 10-bit video processor, 10-bit DAC, NTSC encoder and audio decoder. Component video outputs provide a non-compromised method of transferring video from the DVD player to a component video equipped television. For A/V receiver compatibility, all models also provide S-video and composite video outputs. Both models also include a new Twin-Wave pickup assembly. This new assembly utilizes two different laser diodes for improved playback of CDs and DVDs. This new pickup also allows both players to read CDR discs. Although there is now a multitude of different audio formats available for DVD, such as 96kHz, 24-bit Audio, DTS, Dolby Digital, and Linear PCM, Pioneer built all of their 4th generation DVD players to be compatible with all audio formats. For ease of hook-up and improved audio performance, these players even give the ability to output a 96kHz /24-bit digital signal from the optical or coaxial digital output, allowing for connection to a receiver or external D/A converter. Finally, Pioneer is introducing a brand new graphical-user-interface, which dramatically simplifies setup of all DVD players.DV-626D10-bit video processing 24-bit 96kHz audio digital-to-analog converters with digital pass-through TrickPlay Processor DTS compatible digital output Twin-Wave laser pick-up ViterBi Correction circuit Component Video Outputs Advanced Digital Video Noise Reduction Dolby Digital and DTS processing built in with 5.1 channel outputs Virtual Dolby Digital with SRS Trusurround DV-C302D10-bit video processing 24-bit 96kHz audio digital-to-analog converters with digital pass-through 3-Disc Carousel style changer DTS compatible digital output Twin-Wave laser pick-up ViterBi Correction circuit Component Video Outputs Dolby Digital processing built in with 5.1 channel outputs The DV-C302D is available now at a suggested retail price of $545.00The DV-626D will be available in November at a suggested retail price of $645.00For more information, contact Chris Walker at 310 952 2401.
