Hughes-JVC Introduces New High-Brightness ILAÆ Projector

Hughes-JVC, a leading manufacturer of large screen videographics projectors, has announced a new flagship model to its line of single lens ILAÆ large screen projectors. The model 250SC features according to the company brightness of 5400 ANSI lumens and true display resolution of 1700x1300, making it the highest resolution single lens projector in the world. With a large number of feature and performance enhancements, the 250SC leads the way for other models in the Hughes ñ JVC Series 200 projector line. A higher efficiency illumination system based on new Light Integrator technology generates 5400 ANSI lumens from a 2000 Watt xenon arc lamp while creating an image with vastly improved corner to center uniformity. The company says that the lamp itself is designed for reduced flicker and thermal effect, as well as enhanced lamp life. New CRTs with a reduced spot size result in improved resolution, allowing the 250SC to accept signals up to 2300x1750. These CRTs are coupled to the new higher-resolution ILA light valves with improved relay lenses. The new Graphics Enhancer Plus feature is said to provide software control for crisper edges on text and graphics. And for the first time, an internal scan doubler is available on a simple plug-in Video Input Card. The result of these many upgraded features, says the company, is a leap in projector performance, whether in video, text or graphics modes. - Brightness: 5400 ANSI lumens - Graphics resolution: 1700x1300 true display resolution without down-converting. - a feat no LCD or DMD projector can match. - Video Resolution: 1300 TV lines in the 4:3 aspect ratio - Bandwidth: 120 MHz - Horizontal Scan Frequency: 105 kHz - Contrast: 1000:1 The model 250 features modular inputs, with a wide range of Video Input Card options including RGBHV, Quad RBGHV, Graphics Enhancer Plus, HDTV and Quad Standard Decoder/Line Doubler. It is also available with a full range of fixed and motorized zoom lenses. And, like all Series 200 projectors, it features a single lens, sophisticated software with pull-down menus, and factory pre-sets for the most common sources, resulting in fast setup - typically just 20 minutes or less. The model 250 carrries a North American suggested retail price of $85,000 and is available now.
