The EQ 100 Represents An Entirely New Approach To Video ImagingExtron Electronics has introduced the industryís first video equalizer, the EQ 100. It provides fine adjustments to video signals at distinct frequencies. Video equalization is an entirely new approach to adjust video; it goes beyond the single detail or sharpness control available on other video processors. The EQ 100 functions a s a 6-band video graphic equalizer, allowing each of the six frequencies to be adjusted independent. This affects video signals the way traditional audio equalizers affect audio signals. While traditional audio equalizers allow fine-tuning over the full range of audio, the EQ 100 features unparalleled six bands of control from 0 MHz to 6 MHz of the video spectrum. It can control whether a picture is soft or fine detailed, vivid or faint, bright or subdued, sharp or easy on the eyes ñany characteristics. The EQ 100 is compatible with all international video standards. It accepts composite, S-video, component and digital video sources. It can also output composite, S-video component and digital video. High quality encoding/decoding technology allows the output type to differ from the input type; thus the EQ 100 is compatible with LaserDisc players, DVD players, VCRs, D-1 decks ñany display device regardless of input and output format. For example, the EQ 100 can take an S-video signal, decode it, EQ it and output it as a component signal for devices that lack a S-Video input. The EQ 100 has memory features that are ideal for handling video from a variety of source devices. Settings used for each input are stored in memory. Four additional settings also store presets, eliminating the need to repeat fine-tuning once a setting is established. For example, the EQ 100 can call up settings for signals from a VCR, even after the settings have been re-adjusted for viewing DVDs. An on-screen display makes it easy to select the desired preset and choose between input devices. The EQ 100 is enclosed in an elegant black chassis with attractive front panel and practical controls and displays. An interactive LCD window shows queues for tine, horizontal shift, brightness, contrast and color which re controlled to the left of the display. Equalization controls are located below the display for intuitive fine-tuning.The EQ 100 can loop an Extron audio switcher so that two channel (stereo) audio switches along with the vidoe signal. The EQ 100 (PN: 60-277-01) lists for $4,995 (US Dollars)For more information, contact Extron Customer Support at 714 491 1500.
