Birdland Audio Ships New 24 Bit DAC

Birdland Audio is now shipping its latest 24 bit Digital-to-Analog stereo converter. The new odÈon-lite features the same electronics as the highly acclaimed odÈon-m1. While the odÈon-lite delivers 100 percent of the performance of its sibling, it is less that one third of the cost. The odÈon-lite is housed in a new compact lightweight case measuring only 1.6 x 8.9 x 6.5-inch (41x225x165mm) and uses Birdland Audioís latest research in digital filter which virtually recreates 24 bits of detail from 16 bit CDs. Additional features include: - Processing for 24bit / 96kHz DVD Audio. - Separate transformers for analog and digital power supplies - Over-sized power supply capacitors - Separate digital power supply and local VCO to virtually eliminate jitter - Birdland Audioís famous Solid-Tube(tm) transparent output stage. - Three digital inputs with RCA, BNC, Fiber and Balanced XLR AES/EBU - Highest quality components and gold-plated connectors. - Analog volume control permits direct connection to power amplifier or straight gain to pre-amplifier. ""Itís essentially a repackaging of our current OdÈon-m1, we have shed the expensive machined case of the odÈon-m1 for a smaller less expensive commercial case and added our latest developments in digital filtering."" says Gilles Gameiro, founder and designer of the odÈon series. ""Both feature our Solid-Tube(tm) output stage and provide enough gain to drive most amplifier/speaker combinations.""
