Analog Devices Circle Surround

Analog Devices has invested about $1 million in a dedicated ìCircle Surroundî matrix decoding chip capable of matrixing stereo material to recreate a split-surround effect (see Issue ) The new chip will appear next year in new consumer products to replace the older systems used for surround decoding of soundtracks and music, and in Smart MOD VI 6-channel processors sold to theatres.
