American Cinemateque And The Egyptian Theatre Announce 70mm Film Festival

Beginning November 5, 1999, the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, California will kick off a 70mm film festival comprised of many classics including ""Lawrence Of Arabia,"" ""Spartacus"" and ""The Sound Of Music."" The schedule for the festival is: November 5: ""Spartacus"" (8:00) November 6: 70mm Short Subjects (2:00) ""Lawrence Of Arabia"" (5:00) ""Baraka"" (9:00) November 12: ""The Wild Bunch"" (7:00) ""The Road Warrior""/""Lifeforce"" - double feature (9:30) November 13: ""Tomorrow Never Dies"" (5:00) ""Apocalypse Now"" (8:30) November 14: ""The Sound Of Music"" (2:00) ""Oklahoma!"" (6:00) November 19: ""Edward Scissorhands"" (7:00) ""Total Recall""/""Altered States"" - double feature (9:15) November 20: ""Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"" (2:00) ""Godzilla"" (6:00) ""Titanic"" (9:00) November 21: ""War And Peace"" (12:00) All prints in this festival will be 70mm. Some of them have been newly struck. Most of the films have 6 track magnetic soundtracks. ""Titanic,"" ""Tomorrow Never Dies"" and ""Godzilla"" will feature DTS soundtracks, the latter two of which have been previously screened only in Europe.
