Niles' Expanded CAT-5 Balun Assortment Now Shipping

Niles Audio Corporation, The First Name in Custom Installation®, today announced that the company's nine new wall mount CAT-5 Balun models are now shipping. Each wall mount balun is designed to complement a component counterpart in the popular Niles balun lineup. Niles baluns convert a wide range of signals to balanced circuit topology enabling conventional audio/video signals to be transmitted over long runs of low-cost CAT-5 cabling. Normally used in pairs, each balun in the series is designed with a specific signal application in mind, i.e., analog audio, digital audio, composite video, S-video, cable TV, component video and VGA signal distribution. Because both Niles wall-mount and component baluns feature passive circuitry, they can be mixed and matched to provide solutions for virtually any installation. For example, a component balun can be used to send high definition video signals from a cable/satellite receiver to a wall mount balun that is installed behind a flat panel display. "The overwhelming success of our component balun offering inspired us to add corresponding wall mount versions for every application," said Frank Sterns, president of Niles. "Now professional custom installers can select the appropriate baluns based upon their specific need for any installation," Sterns added. The Niles wall mount balun lineup consists of nine models, each with a specific signal distribution application in mind: 1. C5-A2WM wall mount stereo audio balun is for placing line level audio devices extended distances from their audio source (up to 760 meters) 2. C5-DAWM wall mount digital audio balun is for placing digital audio devices extended distances from their digital audio source (up to 180 meters) 3. C5-VWM wall mount video balun is for placing composite video devices extended distances from their video source (up to 760 meters) 4. C5-SVWM wall mount S-video balun is for placing S-video devices extended distances from their video source (up to 150 meters) 5. C5-VGAWM wall mount VGA balun is for placing VGA video devices extended distances from their VGS video source (640 X 480 pixels up to 100 meters) 6. C5-VA2WM wall mount composite video and stereo audio balun is for placing A/V devices extended distances from their A/V source (color devices, up to 670 meters) 7. C5-SVA2WM wall mount S-video and stereo audio balun is for placing A/V devices extended distances from their A/V source (up to 150 meters) 8. C5-HDDAWM wall mount component video and digital audio balun is for placing A/V devices extended distances from their A/V source (1080i and 720p up to 150 meters and 480i/p up to 300 meters) 9.
