(DPI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Imax Corporation, today announced its LIGHTNING 10sx electronic display has been selected to project Lions Gate Entertainment and Kevin Smith's ""Dogma,"" in an all-digital format at ShowEast, a cinema industry trade show.This represents the first time in ShowEast's 25-year history that a full-length feature will be projected digitally to the prestigious audience. The movie, starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, was transferred from its native celluloid film format to HDTV, an ultra-high-resolution digital video format, and displayed via DPI's electronic projector on a 40-foot wide screen.The screening will take place tonight in Atlantic City as part of ShowEast and will give attendees a first-hand glimpse of the star-studded film projected digitally.The LIGHTNING 10sx utilizes Texas Instruments 1280x1024 (SXGA) Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology and is the highest resolution imaging platform currently available to projector OEM's employing DLP.Yet to be widely released, ""Dogma,"" ""a raucously funny satire,"" received exceptional reviews at the Cannes, New York and Toronto film festivals.""We are thrilled to present a feature length digital movie at the ShowEast convention.
