QSound Labs Inc., Announces New Consumer Electronics Products
QSound's Qsurroundô Technology Offers Natural Stereophonic Surround Effects For the Latest In Sound Advances From AIWA Co. Ltd., Gallant Computers, Inc. And Sharp Electronics QSound Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSND), a leading supplier of digital and analog audio solutions announces new products from Gallant Computers Inc., Sharp Electronics, and AIWA Co, for the consumer electronics market. These products join an already distinguished portfolio of QSound(TM) enhanced consumer electronic products and further solidifies the company's successful penetration of this market. Gallant Computer, Inc., markets a wide variety of advanced multimedia solutions for the PC and entertainment industry. Their newest product, the OdysseySoundô 2 speaker system, now incorporates QSound's unique QXpander, stereo expansion technology. Based on its highly successful AudioStorm FS2 series, the OdysseySound2 maintains the award-winning futuristic ball shape design, but with more powerful satellites. This product is the first collaboration between QSound and Gallant, with several other products in development. Sharp Electronics Corporation has recently announced that its newest full-sized DVD-Video player, DV-750U, will incorporate QSurround technology. This model was designed to complement traditional home theater equipment. Sharp now offers three DVD-Video players all containing QSurround. The models are DV-A1000U, its HTIB model; DV 650U, its unique mini-size DVD-Video player; and its newest product, the full-sized DV-750U. According to Sharp, the DVD market has tripled in the past year, with over 3 million DVD players projected to be sold before the millennium. AIWA Co., Ltd., has introduced high-resolution, stereo televisions incorporating QSurround technology to better deliver high-performance, three-dimensional sound realism for the consumer. The stereo TVs are currently available only in Europe, Asia and Japan. The three new models are the TV-21AST3, TV-20ST5 and TV-14 ST5. The addition of the new line of televisions brings the total number of AIWA's QSound-enhanced portable audio systems, mini-component systems, speaker systems and DVD players to 100+ worldwide.
