Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Warner Bros. and OpenTV Partner To Develop And Market Interactive Television Applications

Warner Bros. and Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.), both Time Warner Inc. companies, have formed a strategic alliance with digital interactive television software leader OpenTV to develop and market enhanced interactive television applications worldwide. The partnership is designed to develop and implement technology that enhances conventional television programs and television advertising with interactive information and e-commerce services. The initial focus will be on enabling a wide range of TBS, Inc. and Warner Bros. programming genres with interactive features. Later, the parties will market interactive applications to other companies, as well as jointly market enhanced interactive television applications to cable, satellite and terrestrial broadcast operators.
