New Klipsch Architectural Products Match Synergy, Reference Series In Form And Function

In an effort to offer consumers and custom installers more choice in home theater/distributed sound configurations, Klipsch, LLC, a leading audio technologies company, has developed two new lines of architectural products - the Klipsch Synergy Custom Series and the Klipsch Reference Custom Series. Both lines are constructed of the same materials and utilize the same styling and technologies of their namesakes, which creates strong systems integration with the traditional Klipsch consumer lines. Kerry Geist, Senior Product Manager, said the driving force behind the new Custom Series was a desire to offer consumers a continuum, or family, of products to choose from that would be the most appropriate for their needs. ""Creating strong visual and performance ties between our Custom Series and consumer product lines gives us a competitive edge because we offer consumers and custom installers more choice. With the launch of our Synergy Custom and Reference Custom lines, contractors can spec in floorstanding, bookshelf or in-wall/in-ceiling speakers knowing that they are all perfectly matched in performance, as well as cosmetics."" The three Synergy Custom Series in-ceiling products 5.25-inch, 6.5-inch and 8-inch speakers - feature a newly developed circular 2-inchTractrix horn that swivels 360 degrees and a tweeter attenuation switch that is accessible from the front baffle. The three Synergy Custom Series in-wall products - 5.25-inch, 6.5-inch and 8-inch speakers - incorporate the same materials and front baffle attenuation switch, but feature a newly developed 5.25-inch square Tractrix horn that rotates +/- 8 degrees in the horizontal plane. This feature allows the tweeter horns to be toed in though the unit is mounted flush in the wall. Based on the SS-1 Synergy surround speakers, the Synergy Custom in wall Surround product utilizes Klipsch's exclusive Wide Dispersion Surround Technologyô (WDST), which delivers an optimal 180? sound pattern, decreasing sensitivity to room placement, allowing greater flexibility in a home theatre set up. WDST enhances rear channel performance because it gives the surrounds the capability to produce the diffuse effects needed for envelopment as well as the direct sounds necessary for good localization. The Synergy Custom Series in-wall and in-ceiling products are made from the same materials and incorporate the same design elements and top loudspeaker technole Klipsch Synergy Series, such as: -aluminum diaphragms -Injected graphite cones -SantopreneÆ surrounds -cast polymer frames -low diffraction baffle and grille design -high-definition crossover networks -phase-aligned drivers The four Reference Custom products one 6.5-inch and one 8-inch in-wall - follow the same design philosophy as the Synergy Custom Series, but the drivers and crossover networks use materials consistent with the Klipsch Reference Series. For example, all four speakers feature copper-colored anodized aluminum cones, titanium tweeter diaphragms and high-quality network components.
