DreamWorksí Steven Spielberg is involved with a joint Warner Bros. and DreamWorks project to produce a new version of H.G. Wells The Time Machine. Spielberg may possibly direct the picture, which is targeted for a summer 2000 release. This is the first time that Warners has joint ventured with DreamWorks, though Spielbergís Amblin and Warners have teamed in past to produce Twister. This is not the first joint venture for DreamWorks with other studios. The studio has partnered with Paramount (Saving Private Ryan, Deep Impact) and 20th Century Fox (the upcoming Spielberg-Tom Cruise picture Minority Report). Spielberg also is actively developing Memoirs Of A Geisha with Columbia, with which his Amblin Entertainment made The Mask Of Zorro.
