VSDAís Small-Retailer Group Will Campaign For FTC Investigation

The Video Software Dealers Associationís Independent Retailers Advisory Council (IRC) is supporting a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigation of the industryís product pricing and distribution practices and the subsequent market-share shifts at retail. VSDA Chairman Mark Vrieling, who also owns Rain City Video in Seattle, says, ""With thousands of video stores going out of business, thereís a huge market-share shift, and we want to know whatís causing it.""Although the FTCís policy is to neither confirm or deny its actions, Bo Anderson, VSDA President, says that based on known phone callers to retailers and staff members of the VSDA, such suggests thereís an investigation.
