The Walt Disney Company has merged its award-winning visual effects division Dream Quest Images with its in-house Feature Animation computer graphics unit to create a new entity, The Secret Lab (TSL). TSL will provide CGI character animation and visual effects services for the studioís live-action and computer-animated projects and features.""Merging Dream Quest and Disneyís computer animation operations represents a tremendous pooling of talent and resources,"" says Thomas Schumacher, President of the Walt Disney Feature Animation division. ""The formation of The Secret Lab brings together a group of visual effects experts that are the top in their field.""Schumacher will oversee the new division and former Dream Quest Vice President and General Manager Andrew Millstein will oversee the operations. Dream Questís artistic and management teams will join the computer graphics unit at the Studiosí Feature Animation Northside Burbank, California facility with the engineering and model shops remaining at the Simi Valley location.
