Sonyís Widescreen Plasma Display
Sony Electronics has introduced a 1.78:1 (16:9) widescreen plasma display, the PFM-510A1WU, high-resolution 42-inch monitor. The unit features 1024x1024 pixels and is capable of displaying HDTV signals, including 1080i/24sf, 180i/60i, 480/60p, 480/60i NTSC and PAL A built-in 10 bit scan converter accepts signals from 15kHz to 80kHz as well as RGB, NTSC and PAL and video signals. Inputs include Y/C (S-video) and component video as well as stereo audio and RS-232 for remote control capability. The PFM-510A1WU also offers an option slot for decoders or future functions. A built-in anti-reflective screen diffuses reflective light to maintain contrast, crisp detail and color purity, and the 500 unit light output for maximum brightness adds another element of versatility in installation. The PFM-510A1WU has a depth of six inches, a weight of less than 100 pounds, and can be wall-mounted.
