RGB Spectrum today announces the VLIô 200C, the latest model in RGBís year-old video scaler line. Introduced in 1998, the VLI 200 is a variable line interpolator especially designed for AV venues and home theatres where video signals are viewed on large screen display. Unlike line doublers and quadruplers, which can only output a signal locked to the input signal, the VLI 200 provides user-programmable output timing to optimize the signal for any projector or other display device. The new model adds a component video input, extending its compatibility to may of the higher-quality sources commonly used on high end environments, such as DVD players and higher-end VCRs.In addition to CAV (component video), the VLI 200C will accept any video source including NTSC/PAL composite video and S-Video. Video processing includes controls for contrast bright, color, and sharpness. The VLI 200 offers state-of-the-art decoding, adaptive comb filtering and de-interlacing, and a TBC (time based corrector). And unlike many line quadruplers and line interpolators, there is no edge breakup in scenes with horizontal motion. The VLI 200 offers complete flexibility on both line and refresh rates. Feeding a projector a signal at its native resolution, also known as its ""sweet spot"", eliminates the need for reprocessing by the projectorís own electronics. With the VLI 200, the user has complete control over the signal, including refreshing rate (up to 80 Hz for flicker free images) output resolution up to quadruple the original.Other features of the VLI 200 include 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio control, pan and zoom, and flicker elimination.About RGB SpectrumRGB Spectrum is a leading designer and manufacturer of videographic and multimedia products for workstations and personal computers.
