ShiftKey And Motorola To Demo Adaptable Content-Ready Cable Modems At Western Cable Show
ShiftKey Software, Inc., a leading developer of Distributed Information Management solutions, and Motorola's (NYSE:MOT) Multimedia Group, a global leader in cable modem technology, announced that they will participate in a joint demonstration at the upcoming Western Cable Show in Los Angeles, December 15-17, 1999. As part of its Advanced IP Services technology, Motorola will show a prototype next-generation home server/cable modem for providing consumers with broadband content in the home. The prototype will integrate ShiftKey's Syndication System software, including ShiftKey Syndicator and SiClone Subscriber, to provide content publishing and subscribing. The demo will highlight content pre-positioning utilizing broadband content packages from recognized content sources, such as Artinsider.com; GetMusic; Reuters; and famous television cartoon artist, Bob Clampett. Content can be pre-positioned on the home server or at other points in the network to eliminate the bandwidth constraints of delivering broadband to consumers. ShiftKey has also developed a new consumer user interface on the subscriber software for the demo. The ShiftKey Syndication System makes it possible for anyone to build reliable and robust content distribution networks quickly and cost-effectively.
