Latest 1394/FireWire/i.Link Technologies On Display In Four-Day Show

The 1394 Trade Association is set for its first-ever trip to the popular Consumer Electronics Show, which starts January 6, 2000 in Las Vegas. The association will host one of this CES' most exciting new booths. It's a 4200 square foot island near one of the CES main entrances, featuring home theater, digital video and networking sections. And, there will be a full array of products from many of the Trade Association's 175 member companies. The TA's theme at the year 2000 CES: '1394: Ask For It By Number."" ""Our first CES exhibit is going to be a very exciting one,"" said James Snider, the TA chair. ""We will have the latest in consumer products, available now, along with an impressive set of demonstrations that will show CES attendees exactly what the 1394 standard can do. In moving from Comdex to CES this year, we are focusing on the rapid advance of 1394 into every type and style of consumer electronics system. All kinds of products and technologies will show 1394's high speed, high bandwidth, versatility."" Among the booth's sights and sites: Digital video editing demonstrations from all the industry leaders, including Apple, Sony and Matsushita, featuring leading-edge 1394/FireWire/i.Link products and technology; PCs and peripherals from international industry leaders like Texas Instruments, Compaq, NEC, Epson and UMAX; and the centerpiece of the booth, a full home theatre system based on products from Panasonic, Softacoustik, Philips, and others.
