As reported previously, Faroudja's new product is the LS700, a high-quality data-grade LCD front projector manufactured by InFocus. Incorporating a Faroudja-developed line-doubling circuit that is similar to the VP-251 line doubler, the LCD projector is optimized for home theatre applications. The LS700 incorporates all of Faroudja's core technologies including adaptive Y/C comb filter, de-interlacing stage and enhancement stage. Faroudja will distribute the InFocus-branded LS700 through its base of home theatre dealers. Suggested retail price is $12,995.Faroudja's video process business is expected to benefit as HDTV rolls out from more manufacturers. Faroudja assessment is that pristine 720p and 1080i pictures on the new HDTV sets will drive customers to want to optimize their NTSC pictures. Faroudja offers several products to upconvert NTSC signals - the VP-251 doubler ($7,500), VP-301 tripler ($15,000), and VP-401 quadrupler ($24,000).For more information contact Bryan Stanton at 860 542 1234.
