SRS Labs Files Patents For Internet Audio Broadcast Technologies
Further strengthening its position as the leading developer and provider of patented audio and voice enhancement technologies, SRS Labs, Inc. announced patent filings for technologies related to the broadcast and playback of Internet streaming audio. WOW99, SRS Labs' flagship Internet audio enhancement technology, has earned unprecedented acclaim from Industry press and consumers alike since its introduction early this year. Through a combination of proprietary spatial and spectral enhancement techniques, WOW technology significantly improves the quality of highly compressed Internet audio formats, such as MP3 and WMA=99. WOW brings new levels of quality to online music lovers through software products, hardware products and the soon-to-be unveiled entertainment broadcast site, SRSWOWcast.com. The technology is the key feature in a family of software and hardware products, called WOW Thing99, launched in September of 1999.
