Toshiba Thursday announced that three of its home entertainment products - including the industryís first DVD-Video player with progressive scan component video outputsóhave received prestigious Innovations 2000 Design and Engineering awards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).The Innovations awards program is one of the industryís most recognized, honoring excellence in the latest designs and concepts in consumer electronics hardware and software. Winners of the prestigious Innovations 2000 award are chosen from entries in the Innovations Design and Engineering Honors Program and are judged by a panel of industry experts, including industrial designers, engineers and the industry press. The SD9100ís ColorStream PRO progressive scan component video outputs deliver the most accurate reproduction of filmed entertainment by any home video source component available today, displaying the full resolution capability of the DVD-Video disc. The SD3109 adds HDCD processing and precision filtering, which allows it to double as an audiophile-quality CD player, capable of providing the full sonic benefits of the more than 3,000 HDCD-encoded CD titles now available.- TW65X81 HDTV-Ready TheaterWide Projection TV: This widescreen (16:9) HDTV-ready projection TV utilizes new PowerFocus HD technology to provide the ultimate in analog TV performance plus the assurance of compatibility with 1080i HDTV broadcasts (using a compatible digital set-top receiver). With its two sets of ColorStream HD component video inputs, the set provides the ultimate high-resolution connection from a digital playback source.
