""Titanic"" To Dock At HBO

Titanic will be featured among the first slate of movies to be shown in high-definition on HBO. HBOís HDTV schedule launches March 6 with Warner Bros. U.S. Marshals at 8 p.m. EST and 9:30 p.m. PST. Titanic will premiere April 10 on a new special HDTV channel that mirrors the main service, with 45 percent of the movies in HDTV each month, rising to 60 percent by yearís end. Lansky, Gotti, Barbarians At The Gate, Crime Of The Century and Earthly Possessions are among the HBO original movies that will be shown in high-definition on the new network. The new network will be carried immediately by DirecTV newly acquired sister satellite service USSB. EchoStar plans to add HBO HDTV as well as HDTV signals of local broadcast stations later in 1999. Customers who want their HDTV via satellite will have to purchase a new satellite antenna and a special set-top converter box to connect to a HDTV television. The new satellite antennas are designed to receive both HDTV and standard satellite signals. The HBO HDTV schedule for March includes: Sphere, Great Expectations, The Replacement Killers, Anaconda, The Peacemaker, The Fifth Element, Kiss The Girls, Face/Off, Amistad, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Eveís Bayou, Swing Kids, White Men Canít Jump, The Beautician And The Beast, Picture Perfect, The Man Who Knew Too Little, So I Married An Axe Murdered and Born Yesterday. Aprilís HBO HDTV schedule, in addition to Titanic, includes: HBO originals Truman, The Jack Bull and Always Outnumbered, and theatrical features City Of Angels, Wild Things, The Apostle, Oscar And Lucinda, Anastasia, The Rainmaker, Gattaca, The Full Monty, L.A. Confidential, Fools Rush In, Speed 2: Cruise Control, Indecent Proposal, Free Willy 3: The Rescue and Clear and Present Danger.
