Swedish audio processing pioneer Dirac announced that Dirac Live Active Room Treatment – alongside Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control – will be available on AudioControl’s latest Hyperion series of home theater processors and receivers. The new luxury home theater series becomes the first from AudioControl to feature these Dirac room correction technologies, unlocking next-generation immersive experiences. Designed for professional calibrators and custom installers, the Hyperion series will be available beginning in Q4 2025.
Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART), introduced in 2023, is a professional-grade smart acoustics solution developed specifically for home theater dealers, custom installers, and advanced calibrators. As a powerful enhancement to the Dirac Live platform, Dirac Live ART transforms a room’s existing speakers into a unified system that intelligently manages room resonances and dramatically improves bass clarity.
“Dirac Live Active Room Treatment is pushing the boundaries of residential audio performance,” says Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s Vice President and Head of Business Development. “Through our collaboration with AudioControl, we’re bringing this groundbreaking smart acoustics technology to the professional installation community – empowering integrators and calibrators to achieve levels of clarity and control once only possible in studio-grade environments. With Hyperion, customers can now experience the full potential of their home theaters, regardless of space or speaker layout.”
The first Hyperion model to support Dirac Live Active Room Treatment is the APR-16, a 16-channel preamp processor launching in Q4 2025. Additional Hyperion models, including the RCV-11 AV receiver and DPR-16 digital preamp processor, will feature Dirac Live Active Room Treatment and will also be available for purchase later in 2025.
Dirac Live ART transforms a system’s existing speakers into a unified acoustic control network that intelligently manages low-frequency resonances. Leveraging Dirac’s patented MIMO technology, Dirac Live ART dramatically reduces decay times and improves bass consistency across all listening positions, even in asymmetrical or untreated rooms. In addition to Dirac Live ART, Hyperion is also AudioControl’s first series to include Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control.
Dirac Live Room Correction optimizes both magnitude and phase response to solve acoustic challenges traditional hardware cannot without significant time, expertise, or cost – while Dirac Live Bass Control co-optimizes subwoofers and speakers using machine learning to deliver smooth, consistent bass throughout the space.
“Hyperion is the ultimate expression of our commitment to sonic excellence,” says Juha Nurminen, Chief Engineering Officer for AVPro Global (the company that now owns AudioControl). “We designed it specifically for today’s professional integrators and custom installers, who demand flexible, precise solutions that meet the unique needs of each client and environment. With the full Dirac Live suite, including Dirac Live ART, Room Correction and Bass Control, we’re giving our customers more audio precision, flexibility, and control than ever before.”
Each Hyperion model will be Dirac Live Ready, featuring built-in compatibility with the full Dirac Live calibration and optimization suite. Licenses for specific Dirac Live modules on the AudioControl Hyperion APR-16 can be purchased here and activated by professional integrators to match individual user preferences and system requirements.
The AudioControl Hyperion APR-16 will be demonstrated at CEDIA Expo 2025 in Denver, September 4–6, in the AVPro booth (#1501).
