Marantz And Philips Announce SACD Player Launches
Marantz and Philips jointly announced U.S. SACD player/component launches for later this year. Marantz will ship its Reference Series SA-1 Super Audio Compact Disc (SACD) player in mid- 2000 at a price to be determined. It will also release the Reference Series PM-17SA Stereo Integrated Amplifier ($1299) and SM-17SA Stereo Power Amplifier ($999) next month. Philips, meanwhile, will release a SACD player that includes DVD-Video capability during the second quarter.
