Monster Cableís annual Dealer Awards and Concert was ""the"" hot ticket for those attending WCES 2000. The enormous ballroom at the beautiful Venetian hotel was decorated with black and white balloons and filled with a standing-room-only crowd. Black and white were the eveningís theme colors. Nearly three thousand guests attended the festivities and most dressed in black and white as well. Guests attended to honor Monster Cableís Most Monsteous Dealers of the year and to enjoy the private concert that followed. An overflow crowd was due in large part to the concertís star music legend Ray Charles. Noel Lee, the Head Monster, presided over the awards portion of the evening with his beautiful wife Lily by his side. Two of the four awards were newly redesigned this year and accompanied by giant Monster Cable gold connector trophies. A complete list of the Most Monsterous winners follows at the end of this release. The most prestigious award, the Gold Award for Most Monsterous Dealer, was won by good guys. Ronald Unkefer, Chairman and CEO of good guys, accepted the giant connector award. A second award was also presented to good guys - Most Monsterous Power Retailer. The retail chainís extraordinary efforts resulted in a 43.97% growth in Monster Cable sales in 1999.Georgia Was On Everybodyís MindAfter the awards ceremony, a 40-piece orchestra charmed the crowd with two crowd-pleasing instrumentals before Ray Charles graced the stage. The entire audience rose to its feet and gave Ray a standing ovation even before he sang his first note. He proceeded to sing one of his well-known hits after another (""Georgia"", ""America"", etc.). After singing his famous rendition of America, Noel Lee presented Charles with a Monster Lifetime Achievement giant connector award and welcomed him into the Monster family as a Famous Monster. Famous Monsters are a high profile group of legendary recording artists, producers, engineers and recording facilities who use Monster Cable.Charles sang two more numbers before the concert ended with another huge standing ovation. After the concert, Lee was quoted as saying, ""Each year we get a chance to thank the industry and bring an unforgettable music experience to CES for our retailers. Ray Charles kicking off our Millennium show was a Monsterously special experience for everyone.""Complete list of the winners from the Monster Dealer Awards and Concert at CES 2000: The Gold AwardThe World's Most Monsterous Dealer Award ó good guys!, Brisbane, CAMost Monsterous Audio/Video Specialty Chain ó Ultimate Electronics, Inc., Thornton, COMost Monsterous Audio/Video Independent Specialist Chain ó Harvey Electronics, Lyndhurst, NJMost Monsterous Audio/Video Independent Specialist Retailer ó Flanner's Audio Video, Inc.
