Kodak Offers Improved Black-And-White Print Stock

Eastman Kodak Company has introduced a new black-and-white motion picture print film designed to provide filmmakers with improved performance and reliability. Kodak Black-and-white Print Film SO-302 has an Estar base and is available in 16 and 35 mm format in 1,000-and 2,000-foot rolls. Lengths of 4,000-and 6,000-feet are available as special orders. Black-and-white print film is used in a variety of applications, including feature film release prints, and film archiving and restoration. Motion picture labs also use black-and-white print film for leader in some cases. ""SO-302 print film offers improved projected operation, running more cleanly and smoothly through todayís projectors,"" says Marian Herz, Product Marketing Manager for Kodakís Professional Motion Imaging division. More efficient and reliable laboratory operations should result, Herz says, since the film is designed to print in high-speed printers without abrasion, breaking, or scratching. Archivists also from the stockís redesign due to superior keeping properties of the Estar base. The new print stock has been trade-tested worldwide. Labs, sound houses and theatres report improved physical performance throughout the motion picture system. ""Kodak black-and-white print film has long been a standard for the motion picture industry,"" says Herz. ""We will continue to provide all of the imaging tools our customers need to ensure the best image quality and to protect their valuable assets.""
