From the makers of SmartPan Pro, the first and only 5.1 surround panner for Pro Tools, comes RealVerb 5.1, a multi-channel reverberation plug-in for Digidesign's Pro Tools. RealVerb 5.1 features the ability to map reverberation spatially for surround mixing. It also has the unique ability to morph between room shapes and textures. RealVerb 5.1 employs a combination of both spatial and spectral techniques to model physical space. The user has the option of creating custom room shapes and sizes by selecting from two palettes of room shapes. To further optimize the acoustic performance of the room, there are two menus of materials available to select from and blend as needed. Complex algorithms allow the user to morph room shapes and materials in real-time with no ""zipper"" effect. In addition to the Room Shape and Materials morphing, RealVerb 5.1 allows the user to morph between their own presets (ideal for the complex transitions required in audio post production). Rather than running parallel reverberators as in other products, RealVerb 5.1 uses a single reverberator and crossfades the controls producing intermediate states that are both sonically accurate and distortion-free. RealVerb 5.1 produces realistic surround reverberation by allowing the user to independently place the direct path, early reflections, and late-field reverberation in the surround soundfield. Users are also given control over the direct source location to create and change perceived distance between the sound source and the listener.
