CD Associates Introduces DVD QTNet - The First Networkable DVD Analyzer

Allows New Equipment Configuration And Faster Testing Options

CD Associates announces a new technology for DVD analyzer users: the DVD QTNet network-capable analyzer system, featuring one master computer that controls up to 10 stand-alone DVD analyzers. The new analyzer system will be introduced at a press conference at the upcoming REPLItech trade show in Dusseldorf, Germany, on February 23, 2000, by CD Associates Executive Vice President Carolyn Dobbin. Stand-alone systems can be any combination of the following CDA products: DVD200MG; DVDSP200; or the DVDSP200DL. Existing CDA DVD200MG systems may be upgraded to slave systems. CDA President Bob Dobbin stated, ""We are excited about the wide range of new equipment configurations and fast results this unit allows. The ability to combine analysis features of so many different units, provides users the ability to truly customize and speed up their analysis capabilities for various DVD uses."" Because the individual drives are stand-alone systems: - Bench maintenance and calibration is easily accomplished outside the system. Individual players can be removed from the rack, hooked to a keyboard and monitored for trouble-shooting and calibration, if necessary. - Player replacement is simple. - Individual players can be removed from the rack and used remotely. - Physical configurations can vary, from 10 drives in two racks to 10 players in a row on a large table top. Networking capabilities of the system allows configurations to fit a wider array of customer needs and space available. Master and slave systems can be separated and located in different racks or rooms. Test data can be saved to separate network drives or printed out on network printers. Users can run tests on any of the drives from the master computer. Separate tests can be run on individual drives, or ""split tests,"" using copies of the same disc in several drives, or any simultaneous combination of these modules that users desire. The master computer, as well as each of the individual drives, uses industry-leading CDA DVD software. About CD Associates CDA produced the industryís first stamper player for DVD in mid-1997, the SP1. This was followed in mid-1998 by the DVD SP100, then later that year CDA introduced the Windows-based DVD SP 200, with Variable Bit Rate which allowed the stamper to be viewed while testing. When it comes to testing dual layer DVD9 stampers, two heads are better than one. CDA engineers are dedicated to providing the most cost effective, quality products and services available to enhance the CD-R and DVD replication process. CD Associates maintains a European office, and Asian distribution is handled through a network of sales agents.
