Panasonic Disc Services Corporation (PDSC) and GlobalLearningSystems.com have entered into an agreement to jointly develop Internet DVD programs for web-centric e-learning opportunities, Dr. Bernard Luskin, President of GlobalLearningSystems.com announced. ""We will use Panasonic's proprietary technology and GLS.com courseware to produce a range of e-learning applications, including new approaches to Information Technology (IT) training,"" said Luskin. ""DVD is exceeding our expectations in the consumer market, and we are now extending DVD success into corporate and educational markets as well,"" stated Robert Pfannkuch, President of PDSC. ""GlobalLearningSystems.com is our ideal partner to develop e-learning opportunities through enriching web-centric course content, powered and supported by DVD-based, high-bandwidth video. Together, we will overcome the present bandwidth limitations through strategies we have learned and developed in our work together over many years,"" Pfannkuch said. ""I have worked on this type of project with Bernie Luskin since 1986,"" noted Pfannkuch. According to Luskin, ""the PDSC-GLS.com partnership is a landmark major relationship for e-learning. This project will give our corporate customers a competitive edge. Bandwidth limitations have constrained the creativity and impact of web-based learning solutions. Now, by linking Internet DVDs to our e-learning courseware, we have broken the bandwidth barrier, and will provide access to training programming as compelling and effective as television programming and we will have the full benefit of the web. Working with a world-class leader like Panasonic will ensure that this solution will truly have a global impact. We predict that this will become a key strategy in the future."" Internet DVD is a format whereby the same physical DVD disc can be played on (1) the standard desktop movie player, (2) PC's with DVD-ROM drives, and (3) the Internet all on the same disc. The PDSC/GLS programs, presently identified as i-DVD Net, will enable playback of GLS' courseware, including IT training programs from leading software publisher, Keystone Learning Systems, a GLS.com company, playable on all three platforms, a PC, TV, and the Internet, separately, or linked.
