Audio manufacturer AMS Neve will receive a Technical Grammy Award on February 22, 2000 from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The Technical Grammy, presented during a reception for Grammy nominees, is awarded to a company or individual for contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field. Among AMS Neve's innovations are the first transistor console, moving fader automation system, microprocessor-based digital reverbs, pitch changers and samplers, and digital consoles. AMS Neve supplies digital and analog mixing consoles and hard-disk recorder/editors to facilities including Abbey Road, Skywalker Sound and Todd-AO.
