Hollywood Film Foundation Hosts Hollywood Digital Cinema - A Presentation And Screening

Gathering Attracts Top Digital Professionals To Discuss Recent Progress In On-Line Distribution, Digital Production And Exhibition

The Hollywood Film Foundation (hollywoodfoundation.com) together with the Hollywood Film Festival (hollywoodfestival.com), Hollywood Network (hollywoodnet.com) and Hollywood Video (hollywoodvideo.com), hosted Hollywood Digital Cinemaô, an evening dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the newest trends in on-line distribution, digital production and exhibition. The event took place Thursday, February 17, 2000 at the prestigious Paramount Theater on the Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood. Hollywood Digital Cinema brought together members of the digital community for a screening of the digital film, ""Damned If You Do"", a digitally shot and edited film directed by Hollywood Film Festival Award Winner, James Zeilinger. The evening also included presentations by leading figures in the Hollywood community, including executives from Independent Film Channel/Next Wave Films, Paramount Studios, Seventh Art Releasing, Sony Digital, Entertainment Tonight Online (Paramount Digital), LOAD-TV, Microsoft, and Disney among others. ""We are looking forward to exploring the fast changing world of digital cinema through the eyes of some of the leaders in the digital revolution,"" stated Mr. Carlos de Abreu, President of The Hollywood Film Foundation and creator of The Hollywood Film Festival. ""It is our intent to bring together leading experts who are transforming the landscape of film and video production in the hopes of opening new frontiers for exploration and to recognize and promote their outstanding achievements."" The Hollywood Film Foundation is involved in a wide array of programs supporting the Independent film community. The 4th Annual Hollywood Film Festival is slated for August 2-7, 2000. Hollywood Video is the title sponsor.
