YEM Announces Smallest HD Encoder

At NAB 2000, YEM (www.yem.com) will debut the world's smallest, lightest HD MPEG-2 encoder and decoder, which is integrated with technology from NTT Electronics Corp. (www.nel.co.jp). The battery-operated encoder, known as HE-1000, and the decoder, HD-1000, are about the size and weight of a small notebook computer. They're designed for use in the field, with low energy consumption and efficient compression and decompression. YEM also will introduce its battery-operated multiformat HD signal generator, which allows test transmissions before transmissions go live.
