D-Cinema Lab At The Egyptian

At the ITS (Imaging Technology and Sound) technology retreat, Tom MacCalla, Associate Executive Director of the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC), announced the formation of a digital cinema (d-cinema) laboratory to be housed in the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, California. MacCalla said the Entertainment Technology Center, a sponsored research unit of the University of Southern California, deems necessary the creation of d-cinema tests based on ""objective methodologies"" and ""neutral processes."" The Digital Cinema Laboratory will conduct ""pyscho-physical"" trial screenings on neutral members of the public.
