Sunfire Corporation has introduced what it says is the most powerful multichannel amplifier ever put on a single-chassis. The company's new Cinema Grand Signature home theatre amplifier provides 405 watts - 8 ohms, RMS - to each of its five channels, for a total of 2,025 watts. ""The new amplifier for the first time gives the home theatre enthusiast with a large room and inefficient speakers a single, reasonably priced amplifier that will deliver soundtracks at theatrical volume levels with no added distortion,"" said Randy Bingham, the company's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The Cinema Grand Signature has a frequency range from 1Hz to 80kHz, delivers 810 watts per channel RMS into 4-ohm loads, and is stable to 2 ohms. Into that load, it pumps out a whopping 1,620 watts per channel on a time-limited basis. Other features of the new amplifier include a high frequency protection circuit, signal-sensing automatic on/off, and balanced inputs for professional applications, high quality gold-plated five-way binding post terminals, and a detachable power cord. Sunfire's new Cinema Grand Signature comes with a five-year warranty and has a suggested retail price of $3,495.
