DIRECTV Inc. announced that it has added WFAA (ABC) in Dallas, Texas, KHOU (CBS) in Houston, Texas and KING (NBC) in Seattle, Washington to its local channel lineup as of March 1, 2000. With the addition of these three stations, DIRECTV customers in Dallas, Houston and Seattle designated market areas (DMA) will now receive the following local channels via satellite:Dallas:(ABC): WFAA(CBS): KTVT(NBC): KXAS(FOX): KDFWHouston:(ABC): KTRK(CBS): KHOU(NBC): KPRC(FOX): KRIVSeattle:(ABC): KOMO(CBS): KIRO(NBC): KING(FOX): KCPQDIRECTV customers can subscribe to their local channel package for $5.99 per month. In addition to local broadcast network channels, a national PBS feed is included in each local channel package at no additional charge. Local channels from Dallas, Houston and Seattle are delivered to DIRECTV subscribers from DIRECTV's primary orbital slot at 101 degrees West Longitude. DIRECTV customers can receive their local channels as well as DIRECTV's current lineup of national digital entertainment and information programming through their existing set-top box and 18-inch antenna.
