Complete Post DVD Gains Gustafson As Vice President

Former DreamWorks Executive To Lead Specialized DVD Services, Technicolor Alliance

Steve Gustafson has joined Complete Post DVD as Vice President of the specialized division of Complete Post, Hollywood, California. The announcement of Gustasfon's new position with the company comes from Bob Brian, President of Complete Post Inc., who remarked, ""Steve is a leader in the DVD business; from spearheading business development strategies at the Studio level to developing creative direction at the production level. We are delighted to have him guiding this growing division."" Gustafson joins Complete Post's DVD Center as the facility is experiencing increasing activity throughout the services it provides to DVD creation and production. Gustafson explains how Complete DVD is uniquely positioned to support the next phase of DVD's evolution and market growth, ""Our complete range of resources put us in position to work with traditional entertainment media owners to create original DVD product and to cross utilize their content in DVD. With the rapidly growing popularity of DVD and the creative possibilities that the DVD format allows, we can develop content to be presented in entirely new ways. The opportunities for creatively re-packaging film, television and music programming along with original graphics and digitally re-mastered sound is something we are uniquely equipped to provide."" The DVD specialty product possibilities include series libraries, and ""Best Of"" compilations from musical performances and television programming and more. Gustafson makes the move to Complete Post directly from DreamWorks where his creative guidance as DVD Manager/Producer of the studio's Home Entertainment division has resulted in some of the industry's most innovative and successful DVD titles such as ""Saving Private Ryan"" and ""The Prince Of Egypt"". Gustafson had been part of the original team that DreamWorks assembled when they launched into DVD in the Fall of 1998 and played an integral part in managing the creation and production of DVD titles for the Studio, propelling DreamWork's rapid advancement within the format. Gustafson has a solid history in the home entertainment arena that began with the Walt Disney Company's Home Video unit where he found his first foray into designing special format projects through the ground-breaking ""Gargoyles"" interactive video board game and VHS video series. Next, Gustafson served as assistant to Ann Daly, President of the studio's Home Entertainment division and later joined her at DreamWorks Feature Animation. It is Daly who Gustafson credits with connecting his capabilities with DreamWork's entry into DVD. The new position at Complete DVD will access the full range of Gustafson's talents in production, creative development and administrative skills in the growth stage of a young entity. Gustafson comments. Gustafson considers creative title development a particular strength he holds and enjoys evaluating which bonus programming elements may work best with each specific film to make a well-rounded DVD title. The self-labeled techno-junkie confesses to being immersed within the world of evolving media and feels that he has found the perfect match for his unique skill set and interests. All the DVD compression suites utilize Minerva compression engines and are equipped with Digital Visions video processing and DolbyÆ Digital 5.1 audio encoding. Full video and audio monitoring capabilities are complemented by sourcing capabilities from D-1, D-2, DigiBeta, and Pluto Space Drives.
