Microsoft Poised To Add Digital TV Link

US software giant Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) is poised to step up efforts to strengthen its position in digital TV by joining forces on Tuesday, March 7, 2000 with News Digital Systems (NDS), the Financial Times reported. It said NDS, an encryption systems and digital software maker, and Microsoft would announce a strategic alliance to develop operating software and applications for interactive television. The two companies would jointly market their products, the newspaper said. Under the terms of the agreement, NDS would effectively transfer its operating software for set-top box decoders to Microsoft, the Financial Times said. Source: Reuters
