The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) began its first periodic review of the conversion to digital television, seeking public comment on a variety of issues pertaining to the switch-over. The commission asked for comment on the 8-VSB standard and what, if any, progress has been made to improve indoor DTV reception, the ongoing compatibility negotiations between consumer electronic manufacturers and whether it should impose minimum performance levels for DTV receivers among other issues.
