Director Stanley Kubrick Dies At Age 70

It is the rare director who can turn out not simply hit films but classics the way that Stanley Kubrick did. His films utilized the entire arsenal of filmmaking tools to create extraordinary story masterpieces on a grand scale with edge to edge beauty. Everyone of us must have a few Kubrick films in our movie collections. Often controversial, always brilliant, his films include Spartacus, Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, and the film that affected generations to come, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Though his films were far and few between, the wait was always worth it. Kubrickís last work, Eyes Wide Shut, starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman is due to open in July of this year.
