Jerry Bruckheimer ñ ShoWest Producer Of The Year
In choosing Jerry Bruckheimer as 1999ís Producer of the Year, this yearís ShoWest convention, held in March in Las Vegas, has made him the first producer in the 25 year history of ShoWest to win the award three times. Buckheimer won previous Producer of the Year awards in 1985 and 1988 with his late partner Don Simpson. In 1998, Bruckheimer had the highest-grossing film of the year with Armageddon, which has generated $535 million in worldwide boxoffice to date. Another 1998 Bruckheimer production, Enemy Of The State, ranked in the Top 10 worldwide domestic hits with a $217.9 million worldwide total to date. Bruckheimerís films have earned 15 Academy AwardÆ nominations and have won the OscarÆ twice. Other wins include three Golden Globes, four Grammys and two Peopleís Choice Best Picture awards.
