Runco Bows Digital-Era Projection Television System

Runco International, the Hayward, California company recognized worldwide as the standard-setter in ultra-performance projection video display systems, has introduced its newest flagship model, the DTV-1100HD. The new model, a fully digital, fully HDTV-capable front projector is legitimately capable of displaying all digital High Definition Television (HDTV) formats in their full, ""native"" resolutions. Kevin Miller, Runcoís marketing director, says, ""Itís something of a point of honor for Runco to maintain the leading position in advanced projection display. Weíve been pushing the envelope for nearly a decade, so it is with particular pride that we introduce the DTV-IIOOHD. Miller adds, ""Runco remains committed to value as well as performance, even at this comparatively rarefied level."" The Runco DTV-1100HD, according to the company, delivers astounding image quality and extraordinary inherent video performance in the reference-projector category. Three 9-inch CRTs with electro-magnetic focus deliver impressive light output combined with unsurpassed resolution and detail. Liquid coupled CRTs provide enhanced contract ratio. Runcoís sophisticated system of gamma-table modifications enable the projector to track gray scale with an accuracy no other projector can match, says the company. Thanks to the exclusive AccuChroma color correction developed by Runco engineering is said to enable the DTV-1100HD to produce superbly accurate, intense color that retains the range and subtlety required for a fully cinematic palette. The DTV-1100HD offers an impressive array of powerful modes and features, including 32 discrete image-format memories. Each completely independent position remembers customized aspect ratio, color-temperature, and scan-rate setting all easily accessible via the supplied remote controller - as well as any necessary variations of conventional user-settings such as brightness/contrast. Each memory further stores individualized convergence data, and stored convergence settings may be ""copied"" from one memory location to another, dramatically speeding up and simplifying setup. Such flexible power is necessary because the DTV-1100HD can display images in as many as 8 different aspect ratios, if necessary, ranging across the full array of formats from conventional 4:3 (1.33:1) television, through all the variations of widescreen and anamorphic film-transfer imaging, to ""native"" 16:9 (1.78:1) HDTV programs. The new DTV-1100HD has an RGB input compatible with video scaler processors, and has a horizontal-scan rate up to 69 kHz. Together, this makes the DTV-1100HD one of the most versatile high-performance projection systems available--more than up to the challenges of todayís ever-growing variety of widescreen source materials and formats. Runco enhances the DTV-1100HDís outstanding picture quality and performance with carefully designed ergonomic systems, including an easy to use internal menu system and a supplied wireless or wired remote controller. The Runco DTV-1100HD, says the company, truly qualifies as the new benchmark reference in CRT projection television both for today's NTSC video sources and tomorrowís high-resolution digital formats. The DTV-1100HDis available now at a suggested retail price of $39,995. For more information contact Rick Bergamaschi at 510 293 9154.
