To celebrate 20 years of excellence in home-audio equalization, AudioControl has unveiled a Special Edition of its classic, perennially popular C-101 Series III hi-fl equalizer/analyzer. The C-101 Special Edition maintains all the excellence and unsurpassed utility of its predecessor, the multiple audio-industry award-winning C-101 Series III, while introducing ice blue LEDs combined with incredible uprated test-bench performance. AudioControl, the Washington-state manufacturer internationally recognized for its high performance, high-value home and mobile audio components, has long championed equalization as an invaluable hi-fi tool. The C-101 Special Edition is immediately identified by its dramatic, ice blue LED array, and by its new platinum-finish front panel. The overall result is a striking but subtle ""new look"" for a product thatís every bit as useful as its predecessor. Like the earlier Series III version, the C-1O1SE delivers l0-band graphic equalization individually to each stereo channel, using internationally accepted ISO-standard center frequencies chosen for utility in program equalization and room-acoustics compensation. Boost and cut of up to 15 dB are possible over all bands, while the C-1O1SEís sophisticated infrasonic filter serves to reduce in-speaker distortion and effectively extend useful bass response (and increase usable amplifier power) by removing non-musical signal components below the audible range. Equally important, the C-1O1SEís integral real-time spectrum analyzer displays in-room response via the supplied laboratory-grade measurement microphone, with user-selectable resolution and level. The combination makes implementing true audio enhancement via equalization far easier and more repeatable, eliminating the hit-or-miss element inherent to making adjustments purely ""by-ear.""
