Proton Debuts New NT-3460 32-inch Monitor/Receiver With Component-Video Input

Proton has introduced the new NT-3460 32-inch Stereo Monitor/Receiver with component-video input. The unit is crafted to serve as the visual centerpiece of a sophisticated home theatre/entertainment system. The 181-channel, auto-programming Proton NT-3460s square, flat screen, says the company, presents a picture of matchless color and precise detail. Full 650 lines of horizontal resolution assure the integrity of video images from broadcast programming to LaserDisc/DVD and S-VHS titles. The NT-3460s component-video input assures the best picture possible from the latest DVD-Video players equipped with component video output. Protonís renowned video technology is evident in every image enhanced by 95 percent DC restoration and Dynamic Black Level Extension. These engineering advances, says the company, deliver true black and brilliant whites - the cornerstone of rich, realistic and detailed picture. An advanced digital comb filter and a stiffly regulated power supply further assure picture integrity. Protonís Super Scan Velocity Modulation On/Off, when activated, allows the viewer to enjoy increased detail and sharpness in the brightest areas of the image, or may be defeated for the videophile purest. To streamline custom installations, the NT-3460 features Protonís proprietary Custom Installation Programmable Microprocessor (CIPM) which offer the system installer direct access to the unitsí microprocessor for custom programming of the monitor/receiverís operating functions. The Proton NT-3460 features quality-built bi-amplified speakers and offers precise crossover circuitry and dedicated heavy bass subwoofers. The Proton NT-3460 offers multiple video inputs and outputs. The rear panel features one component video input (with L/R audio), two A/V inputs, one A/V output, one S-Video input, one TV tuner and one antenna input. The front panel has convenient audio/video input and an S-Video input for easy connection of video games or a camcorder. The NT-3460 features an MTS decoder and a closed caption/text decoder. A full-featured remote control with on-screen programming further contributes to ease of use.
