Vidikron of America, a leader in high-performance video projectors and support components, has introduced the advanced capabilities of an enhanced and redesigned successor to its very successful Image Two projection system. The new Image Two A Projector, according to the company, includes a range of improvements that help ready the system for full compatibility with digital television modes, including all HDTV options. Vidikron says that the Image Two A was conceived from the ground up for performance and value in displaying HDTV, line-doubled, and other enhanced-definition images. Refinements over the Image Two Aís predecessor include higher frequency horizontal-scan capability and more flexible synchronizing controls. The new projector accepts horizontal scanning frequencies as high as 50 kHz offering an ideal display of line-doubled and tripled signals such as those provided by Vidikronís own VP-20 Line Doubler and VP30 Line Multiplier. The Image Two A also adds valuable improvements in control and memory functions. The Image Two A stands ready to-provide optimal display of forthcoming digital television signals, including all U.S.-standard high-definition formats. The projector accepts video signals via standard. RGB BNC connections, within dependent horizontal and vertical sync inputs. It has full compliance with NTSC or sync-on-green signal formats, and is fully compatible with and well suited to the display of VGA computer graphic signals. Vidikron says the Image Two A uses extraordinarily accurate, ultra-compact, liquid-cooled CRTs with electromagnetic focus for optimal resolution, and proprietary, color corrected optics that maximize projected picture quality. The Image Two A is able to display image sizes ranging from five to I5 feet, diagonally, in a conventional 4:3 (1.33:1) aspect ratio, and is equally at home with the widescreen 16:9 (1.78:1) display ratio.A new user-memory system endows the Vidikron projector with three separate aspect ratio memories, each containing 13 independent frequency registers. This permits fully ""tweaked,"" automatically invoked set-up for each of three screen configurations, maintaining full quality as the Image Two A shifts among the DTV standards it is anticipated viewers will encounter in broadcasts. Set-up and adjustment are fully accessible via the Image Two Aís supplied Wireless remote control, substantially easing installation. In addition to these important performance enhancements, the Image Two A features several new convenience and system integration refinements. An RS232 serial control port permits full integration with custom-designed system controllers, including PC-based control systems. An added l2-volt trigger mechanism permits easy integration of Screen lifts or other responsive devices, even in relatively uncomplicated installations. The Vidikron Image Two A is suitable for ceiling or floor mounting, and includes keystone correction of up to 20 degrees that makes system-layout easy in the widest possible range of interiors. Its award winning Pininfarinadesigned exterior, fanless operation, and remarkably compact dimensions (22 x 29 x 9 inches) further ease integration in real-world living spaces, as does its rugged, durable, enclosure. The Vidikron Image Two A is currently available at a suggested price of $10,995 from Vidikron dealers in standard matte white and charcoal, Or in an optional high-gloss Ferrari red. A wide variety of installation accessories - including screens, ceiling lifts and cables - is also available from Vidikron.
