For example, viewers can create ""49ers,"" ""golf,"" ""Julia Roberts"" or ""Harrison Ford"" channels. ReplayTV also lets consumers control live television. Forrester Research, a leading independent research firm that analyzes technology and its impact on business and society, estimates that some 14 million Americans will use personal television by 2004. In a recent report, Forrester says personal television will fundamentally change television forever. The company also predicts 10 years from now, personal TV will penetrate four out of five U.S. homes, making it one of the fastest-growing consumer electronics categories in history. The Replay Network Service creates what has been called a ""portal for television,"" a place where people can find and select content as they choose. The Replay Network Service will continue to evolve over time offering more ways to find great TV shows, says the company. These new features will be automatically added to the set-top box over the Internet for free.
